[21p-A307-7] Spintronics Using Gyromagnetic Effect Originated from Local Angular Momentum in Non-uniform System

Yukio Nozaki1,2 (1.Keio Univ., 2.CSRN at Keio Univ.)

Keywords:spin current, gyromagnetic effect, surface acoustic wave

Gyromagnetic effect suggests that a mechanical rotation can be converted to electron spin polarization. Recently, it has been demonstrated that local lattice rotation in surface acoustic waves produces an alternating spin current. Furthermore, a generation of direct spin current via gyromagnetic effect has been also observed when an electric field is applied to a conductance-graded material, where a vortical flow of conduction electron appears. In this presentation, recent studies on spintronics using gyromagnetic effect will be reviewed together with the possibility for practical device applications.
