[22a-A401-4] Investigation of Li-ion batteries using Cu as a cathode current collector
Keywords:all solid-state Li-ion battery, cathode current collector
Cu has a redox potential of about 3.5 V, which is lower than the cathode potential of Li-ion batteries, and it has been considered difficult to use Cu as a cathode current collector because of the oxidation reaction that occurs during charging. We investigated if Cu could operate as a cathode current collector by inserting a chemically stable intermediate layer between the cathode active material and Cu to prevent contact between the cathode active material and the electrolyte. In this study, we fabricated a Li-ion battery using Nb-doped SrTiO3 thin film as an intermediate layer and Cu as a cathode current collector and verified its characteristics.
