Mixed-plate compression is a compact scheme of nonlinear pulse compression that works at wavelength range around 3-4 um, by combining materials with anomalous dispersion and normal dispersion to accelerate self-steepening process. In this presentation, we apply this scheme in the wavelength range around 2 um. 3-cycle mid-infrared pulses with pulse energy of 30 uJ and central wavelength around 2.1 um output from an optical parametric amplifier is focused by a lens on an array of 4 plates consisting of 2 ZnSe and 2 fused silica (all 1 mm thickness) separated each other by several cm. By adjusting their lateral positions, broad output spectrum spanning from 1.5 um – 2.5 um has been obtained.
