Triboelectric nanogenerators are researched extensively as devices that can generate electricity from mechanical energy that has not been used in conventional manners. In this study, we demonstrated the fabrication of electrodes composed of conductive graphitic carbon on biodegradable composite sheets by laser irradiation and applied the electrodes for triboelectric nanogenerators. When the composite sheets with fabricated electrodes were contacted with other materials, an output voltage was generated across the resistor. That is, the generation of electricity from mechanical energy was demonstrated using laser-induced graphitization.
