We have numerically simulated nonlinear propagation in air, which is a problem in laser ablation using sub-100 fs lasers, and explored the possibility of quantitatively predicting the ablation results. In this study, we have demonstrated a simulation method that can quantitatively predict the crater diameter over a two-orders of magnitude by comparing the simulation results using various models for the air ionization, which significantly affects the simulation results.
