△ [23a-B203-6] Comparison of chemical states of Co and Ir catalyst during growth of SWCNT by in situ XAFS measurement
Keywords:carbon nanotube, XAFS, CVD
Understanding the growth mechanism of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) is important for structural control, and in-situ measurements are essential to determine the state of the catalyst during SWCNT formation. In the past, we have discussed the chemical state of the Co catalyst during SWCNT growth by in-situ X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) measurements. Here, we performed in-situ XAFS measurements on the Ir catalyst, which is a platinum group element, during SWCNT growth, and considered the difference in the formation mechanism from the Co catalyst, which is an iron group element.
