▼ [22a-E307-2] The dependence of proton transport route on carboxylic acid density in polymer thin films
キーワード:polymer thin film, proton transport
The proton conductive membranes typically contain the proton-donating groups. In the proton conductive membranes, two proton conductive pathways: interfacial and internal transports, are presented. As previously reported, the interfacial proton transport of carboxylic acid-functionalized materials plays a crucial role in overall conductivity. Studying the influence of carboxylic acid group density to the proton transport route is advantageous. The carboxylic acid-functionalized styrene-based copolymer thin films with different acid group densities were synthesized. The high acid density film was named P4VBA100. The low acid density film was called PS4VBA50. The internal and interfacial proton transport were identified by the in-plane proton conductivity and normalized interfacial resistance. The P4VBA100 shows internal proton transport, while the PS4VBA50 provides interfacial proton transport. The results suggested that the proton transport route changed with the acid group density.
