[22p-D315-17] Patterning of Fluorescent Dye Microdroplets by Optical Vortex Laser Induced Forward Transfer
Keywords:Optical vortex, Laser-induced forward transfer
We carried out the experiments on laser-induced forward transfer for a liquid thin film of a fluorescent dye solution. Upon irradiating a single shot of 532-nm nanosecond pulsed laser into the thin film, a small droplet is ejected from the donor film and transferred to a receiver substrate. We controlled the number of droplets to be transferred by changing the number of shots of optical vortex and successfully patterned the droplets with different sizes. Fluorescence spectra of the patterned droplets were measured under the irradiation of 532-nm nanosecond pulsed laser. We confirmed that the spectrum was sharpened at a certain excitation energy, meaning laser oscillation of the droplet. Thus, we demonstrated the potential of optical vortex laser induced forward transfer for patterning fluorescent dye droplets.
