△ [22p-E204-1] A possible Mott insulator with high electron mobility: Rock-salt structured NbO epitaxial thin film
Keywords:Pulsed Laser Deposition, Mott insulator, Niobium Oxide
Transition metal monoxides generally have a rock-salt structure, which is chemically unstable and insulating. In contrast, NbO is a chemically stable pseudo-rock salt form (Nb3O3, a = 4.21 Å) with ordered vacancies, where Nb and O are removed by 25% each from the rock salt form (Nb4O4). In contrast, NbO has a chemically stable pseudo-rock salt type (Nb3O3, a = 4.21 Å) with ordered vacancies, in which 25% of Nb and O are removed from the rock salt type (Nb4O4), and shows metallic superconductivity with Tc = 1.5 K. The previously reported NbO The previously reported NbO is only bulk pseudo-rock salt type Nb3O3, and there is no report of synthesis of rock salt type Nb4O4. This time In this study, we succeeded in fabricating NbO epitaxial thin films of rock-salt type Nb4O4 by pulsed laser deposition. We have successfully fabricated NbO 62 cm2/V.s at room temperature.
