△ [22p-E307-2] Fabrication of photo-responsive gel actuators using buckle delamination
Keywords:Hydrogel, Actuator, Buckle delamination
By controlling the buckle delamination that occurs in the gel film laminated on the substrate, it is possible to induce a transition between 2D and 3D shapes depending on the degree of swelling. In this study, poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm) gel combined with gold nanorods (AuNRs) was used as the gel film. Irradiation with near-infrared light enables photo-actuation due to the heat generation of AuNRs and the deswelling of PNIPAAm by the phase transition, indicating that the use of buckle delamination is useful as a method to achieve both fast response and large deformation.
