In this study, we performed optical measurements on hybrids consist of plasmons excited in gold nanorods and excitons in organic dye aggregates. An aperture near-field optical microscope was used for the transmission and photoluminescence measurements. In the near-field transmission measurements, we observed the transmission light enhancement on the nanorods near exciton resonance energy and revealed that the hybrids were in strong coupling regime. In the near-field photoluminescence measurements, we observed the strong photoluminescence near the gold nanorods and revealed that the observed strong photoluminescence was originated from new electronic states due to the strong coupling.
