[23p-D315-8] Performance improvement of spatial mode conversion based on spatial cross modulation by introducing generic algorithm
Keywords:Optical wavefront control, Mode-division multiplexing
Recently, mode-division multiplexing technology, which multiplexes information by treating multiple spatial modes as independent transmission carriers, has been attracting attention. In order to realize mode-division multiplexing transmission, a technology to convert spatial modes is indispensable, and a low-loss and low-crosstalk technology is required. In this study, we focused on spatial crosstalk modulation (SCM), which is an optical wavefront control technique characterized by high optical utilization efficiency. it is reported that iterative computation improves the conversion accuracy of SCM, but since iterative computation is accompanied by a decrease in optical utilization efficiency, we introduced a genetic algorithm to achieve low-loss and low-crosstalk mode conversion. However, iterative calculations are associated with a decrease in optical utilization efficiency, so we aim to achieve low-loss and low-crosstalk mode conversion by introducing a genetic algorithm.
