△ [24a-E206-3] Exploring Charge Transport Materials to Improve Radiation Tolerance of Lead Halide Perovskite Solar Cell

Solar cells used in space such as artificial satellites and planetary probes need to be radiation-tolerant. Although efficient GaAs tandem solar cells are commonly used as the space solar cells, their radiation tolerances are insufficient. Here we report the effect of electron beam (EB) irradiation on organic-inorganic lead halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) as evaluated by time-resolved microwave conductivity (TRMC) and optical spectroscopy. Although no deterioration was observed in the TRMC measurements of perovskite layer before and after EB irradiation, a PCE of a solar cell was decreased. EB irradiation to charge transport layer was found to decrease its conductivity or change the optical characteristics due to defect generation, leading a deterioration of device performance. Importantly, such EB effect was most insignificant in PTAA, resulting in much higher radiation tolerance in the device using PTAA as the hole transport layer.
