Quantum repeaters and quantum interfaces are indispensable devices for networking distant quantum systems including quantum processors. As a platform for these devices, hybrid structures comprised of a diamond with color centers and another dielectric material are receiving great attention. We previously reported a design of a diamond photonic crystal (PhC) nanobeam cavity integrated on a SiN waveguide. On the other hand, an AlN-diamond hybrid structure, where large piezoelectricity of AlN is available, is a promising structure for realizing an efficient quantum interface between a microwave photon and a near-infrared photon. Here, we report a design of a high-Q (>10,000) PhC nanobeam cavity in the AlN-diamond hybrid platform.
