In this study, Marimonanocarbon made of nanocarbon fiber having a cup laminated structure was used as the negative electrode material of the magnesium ion secondary battery expected as a post-lithium ion secondary battery. Marimo nanocarbon showed higher charge capacity and Coulomb efficiency than spheroidized natural graphite, which is a material conventionally used in lithium-ion secondary batteries.
