Keywords:quartz crystal microbalance, DNA hybridization, one base-mismatch detection

In recent, a new environmental analysis method, which is useful for understanding an entire species in the environment by detection of a freeing DNA, has been reported. Therefore, the production of a portable and on-site detectable DNA sensing device attracts much attention. However, a benchtop-type DNA detector has been developed for use in a laboratory as a mainstream, compared with the development of a portable DNA detector. In this study, we developed an IC card-sized quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) biosensor that can detect a mass change with a nanogram-order sensitivity and confirmed the performance by detection of a target DNA with or without one base-mismatch difference.
