Photomixing of the internal optical beats of Kerr micro-resonator frequency combs is expected to be a terahertz (THz) generation method that can achieve both high performance (ultra-high frequency and low phase noise) and practicality (small size, simplicity, and low cost). In this study, we investigate ASE suppression and improve the communication quality by adding forward pumping to a the fiber amplifier in a THz communication setup using Kerr micro-resonator frequency combs and an Uni-traveling carrier photodiode.
