Dinitrogen pentoxide (N2O5) is promising for various applications owing to its unique high reactivity. But it has rarely reported in applied research due to the difficulty of its synthesis and storage. Recently, we have developed a new technique, which can electrically generate N2O5 using atmospheric-pressure plasma from air with high safety and easy handling. In this presentation, we will show the results on the initial Ca2+ response induced by N2O5 exposure in a plant and the possibility of the plant immunity enhancement toward agricultural applications of plasma-generated N2O5.
