Chaotic microcavities in which optical rays exhibit chaotic motion gather considerable attention in the research field of fundamental physics. They exhibit wave chaotic modes having complicated electro-magnetic field distribution. In this work, we investigated the statistical property of the complex resonance frequency for a stadium-shaped optical microcavity using the finite element method.
