[15a-PA01-42] Space-Selective Polymerization of Organic Crystal by Ultraviolet Excitation

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) consist of several aromatic compounds are promising for organic semiconductors due to their absorption properties. Oligomers of the PAHs have larger π-conjugation length than that of the monomer, and thus the absorption band is red shifted compared to the monomer. Space-selective reaction of the polymerization enables to utilize the organic semiconductors in a variety of fields. In this study, we examined optical properties of the space-selective polymerization of fluoranthene.
