In order to creat the clean energy soceity based on renewable energies, development of high-efficiency solar cells is essential. Because efficiencies of single-junction solar cell are approacing the Shockley-Queisser limt 32-33%, multi-junction and Si tandem solar cells with efficiency potential of more than 42% as a result of effective utilization of solar spectrum are promising. This paper presents overview of high-efficiency multi-junction and Si tandem solar cels and results for loss analysis of their high-efficiency solar cells.
