Photovoltaics with nm-scale dopant-rich regions is one of the quantum dot-type solar cells. The light absorption of this solar cell becomes resonant absorption, and the light is absorbed only in the dopant rich region that has the same potential barrier energy as the light has. This makes light absorption with very little loss. In this presentation, we calculate the upper limit value (90% or more) of energy conversion efficiency of this solar cells, and examine a method to approach this upper limit.
