Keywords:plasma bullet, surface-launched

Surface-launched plasma bullets are launched vertically from the surface of the dielectric in contact with the discharge gas. This unique bullet launching mode can lead to the generation of a large volume of atmospheric pressure plasma. However, they are not launched unless the applied pulse voltage waveform has high dV/dt. Numerical simulation has indicated that the bullet is more likely to be generated for higher dV/dt since the delayed initial electron avalanche for bullet generation is driven by higher E/N.
