[15p-PB06-18] FDTD Modeling of Metal Nanopillar Array Using Cross-sectional SEM images

Plasmonic color is a coloration caused by the surface plasmon properties of metal nanostructure arrays. Plasmonic colors are expected to be applied to biosensors as well as to high resolution printing technology that does not fade. For these applications, it is a challenge to fabricate metal nanostructured arrays in an area of millimeter to centimeter with low cost and good reproducibility. Therefore, we have focused on moth-eye films with nanopillar arrays on the surface. We have previously reported that deposition of a thin metal film on a moth-eye film with a periodic array structure produces different plasmonic colors depending on the metal species and metal thickness. In this study, numerical simulation and modeling based on cross-sectional SEM analysis of metal nanopillar arrays were performed to reproduce the plasmonic color variation depending on the metal film thickness.
