Visible light excited hole transfer reaction has been reported to occur in composite materials of p-type doped GaN (p-GaN) and Au nanoparticles, which is expected to be developed for visible light responsive photoelectric conversion devices and optical switching. However, the mechanism of the reaction is still unknown for GaN nanoparticles. In this study, composite materials of Au nanoparticles and p-GaN nanoparticles were prepared and their nanostructures and photophysical properties were evaluated.
