[16a-A404-7] Design of Neuromorphic Information Devices Using Protons

Keywords:proton, neuromorphic, WO3

In this study, we focused on "ionic degrees of freedom," and designed information processing devices using protons. We have realized a synaptic function in which the resistance changes continuously in a proton-sensitive two-terminal oxide device. We have also shown that the volatility of protons can be freely controlled by using TiO2 and SiO2 as a "container" and a "cap" for protons. The combination of proton-sensitive materials with a "container" and a "cap" is expected to enable advanced neuromorphic device design based on protons.
