A silver thin film has high reflectance in the visible and near infrared, however, its UV reflectance is low. The low UV reflectance can be compensated with dielectric multilayers if the silver thin film and dielectric layers are separated enough to avoid optical coupling. Here we show that by combining silver thin film and dielectric multilayers, solar reflectance can be as high as 98.7%. In addition, these multilayers have high infrared emittance such that these multilayers can be cooled radiatively in day which we proved experimentally.
