[16p-A307-3] Nanoscale Temperature Shaping with Localized Surface Plasmon

Kenji Setoura1 (1.Kobe City Col. Tech.)

Keywords:localized surface plasmon, photothermal conversion, temperature shaping

Arbitrary shaping of temperature fields at the nanometer scale is an important goal in nanotechnology; however, this is challenging because of the diffusive nature of heat transfer. In the present work, we numerically demonstrated that spatially-resolved optical heating at the nanometer scale can be achieved with plasmonic modes of metal nanostructures. In addition, some practical applications of the present temperature shaping method will be introduced.
