Organic-inorganic perovskite compounds composed of organic amines and lead iodide can control the dimensionality of lead iodide octahedra and optical properties by changing the organic amine species and composition. In particular, quasi-two-dimensional (q-2D) perovskite compounds, which have intermediate structures between two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D), exhibit excellent photocatalytic activity and stability, and are expected to be used for next-generation hydrogen production. In this study, in order to identify the effect of the dimensionality of perovskite compounds on the photocatalytic activity, hydrogen generation ability of 2D, q-2D, and 3D perovskite microcrystals under photoirradiation were investigated.
