HPHT Diamonds for Bulk-Ensemble NV-based High-Sensitivity DC Magnetometer were characterized in terms of T2 and T2*. Spin-concentration dependent contributions of the bath spins and strain to the dephasing rate 1/T2* were analyzed to estimated the optimal concentration in terms of the material factor in the photon-shot-noise limited DC-field sensitivity. Improvements in quality of diamond samples and sensing method would lead to 2 orders-of-magnitude enhancement of the sensitivity.
