Bi2223 phase has the highest Tc of about 110 K and has already been used in a wide range of applications such as power transmission cables and superconducting magnets as silver sheath multi-core long wires. However, the Bi2223 phase has a higher Tc of about 110 K than the B2223 phase. However, Pb doping of about 15% with respect to Bi sites is considered essential to produce a Bi2223 phase that is close to a single phase, and changes in the physical properties of c-axis oriented sintered compacts have not been investigated when the amount of Pb doping is systematically changed. In this study, we attempted to clarify the essential Pb doping effect on the grain boundary of Bi2223 polycrystals through the preparation and characterization of low Pb-doped Bi2223 sintered compacts, and examined their physical properties by precisely controlling the temperature and oxygen partial pressure during sintering.
