[16p-E402-9] Vibrational energy harvesters utilizing polar organic molecules as electret: Enhanced output current owing to the active control of molecular orientation

Yuya Tanaka1 (1.Gunma Univ.)

Keywords:spontaneous orientation polarization, electret, vibrational energy harvester

Electret-based vibrational energy harvesters (E-VEHs), which can obtain electrical power from ambient vibrations, are currently attracting attention. Although the fabrication of electrets requires a charging process, we have developed E-VEHs that do not need the charging process by using spontaneously oriented polar molecules for organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) as electrets. In this talk, we will introduce the E-VEH utilizing the spontaneous orientation polarization phenomenon. In addition, we will discuss how to increase the device's output power by controlling the orientation of polar molecules.
