Micro and nano phononics attract much interest recently. We proposed a sensitive phonon detection method by using a single Cooper-pair transistor and confirmed its operation experimentally. This method gives a phonon sensitivity more than 1000 times as high as that of a traditional superconducting-tunne- junction detector.
