We demonstrated the metal-aperture coupled cavity VCSEL with bandwidth enhancement and mode control thanks to transverse resonances. A 1060nm single-mode metal-aperture VCSEL with surface relief structure was presented. The bandwidth enhancement to 29GHz and single-mode operation are obtained. We carried out 65Gbps (NRZ) and 90Gbps (PAM4) data transmission through 2km-long standard 1300nm SMF.
