[17p-A410-2] Technological Innovation of Electronic Holography Three-dimensional Displays Using Liquid Crystal

We have been developing spatial light modulators of electronic holography based on liquid crystal orientation analysis for realizing ideal three-dimensional display without visual fatigue. In order to expand viewing zone angle of reproduced images, we first realized the high resolution of spatial light modulator by pixel separating walls. We also clarified that the non-uniformity of liquid crystal thickness and alignment degrades the resolution and brightness of reproduced images, and the number of gradations of voltage driving limits the resolution of reproduced images. Moreover, we proposed a new method to suppress speckle noise by optical phase disturbing effect of spontaneous liquid crystal orientation fluctuation.
