BDTA-TCNQ derivatives are known to give a crystal structure, where 2D networks are formed through chalcogen (S or Se)-nitrogen contacts, which stack up on top of each other to form a 1D layer structure. In this study, we investigated the anisotropy in thermal diffusivity for single crystals of BTDA-TCNQ derivatives. As expected, the thermal diffusivity in the 2D layer, where molecules are linked together through chalcogen-nitrogen contacts, was larger than that in the stacking direction in which only van der Waals contacts act. Although the thermal diffusivities within the 2D layers were not significantly different depending on chalcogen species, interesting anisotropy was observed, reflecting a slight difference in contact mode.
