[17p-E402-7] Organic Photovoltaics Based on Semiconducting Polymers

Itaru Osaka1 (1.Hiroshima Univ.)

Keywords:organic semiconductors, organic photovoltaics, polymers

Bulk-heterojunction organic solar cells based on semiconducting polymers have been intensively investigated in the last few decades. We have been studying a number of π-conjugated polymers by incorporating various fused heteroaromatics based on various heteroaromatic fused rings into the polymer backbone. In this presentation, I will show the progress in the design and synthesis of semiconducting polymers and discuss how the molecular structure affects the polymer properties and polymer order in the thin film and thereby solar cell performances.
