Keywords:vortex beam, orbital angular momentum, chirality

In recent years, the interaction between vortex beams with orbital angular momentum and chiral matter, in addition to the conventional light with spin angular momentum (circularly polarized light), has attracted much attention from both fundamental physics and application perspectives. Using plasmonic nanostructures designed to mimic chiral materials, we found from numerical simulations and experiments that there is a difference in absorption spectra for linearly polarized left and right vortex beams (helical dichroism) and that the hybridization of quadrupole plasmon modes causes this dichroism. In this talk, I will present the results of this research.
