A guided-mode resonance filter (GMRF) is a narrowband reflection filter consisting of a sub-wavelength grating integrated in a waveguide on a transparent substrate. In this study, asymmetric doubly periodic gratings with two teeth and two spaces of different widths in a single period are considered to form a flat-top shape in the GMR reflection spectrum. A narrowband flat-top reflection spectrum with a full width at half maximum of 4 nm was designed and confirmed by using the rigorous coupled-wave analysis.
