Recently, a two-dimensional material called MXene has been attracting attention as an electrode material, etc. MXene is obtained by exfoliating ceramics called MAX phase with acid. However, it has been difficult to synthesize a MAX phase suitable for exfoliation in high yield. We developed a high-temperature high-vacuum furnace converted from an ultrahigh-vacuum chamber and succeeded in synthesizing the MAX phase suitable for exfoliation in a highly efficient and simple manner. In this presentation, we will compare the MAX phase with samples synthesized by existing methods.
