[CS11-11] Introduction of Construction Information Modeling/Management (CIM) to Highway Projects from Topographic Survey to Operation and Maintenance: Challenge in Kobe-Nishi Bypass Project (Three-Dimensional Laser Topographic Survey)
Keywords:Construction Information Modeling/Management (CIM), Airborne laser survey, Mobile Mapping System (MMS), Ground laser survey, i-Construction
Kobe-Nishi Bypass project is applying new laser scanning technologies for the topographic survey. This project is aiming to be a model case of transportation infrastructure projects for enhancing productivity of construction projects by optimizing the project using CIM from the topographic survey to design, construction, and O&M. This project applied three types of laser survey systems such as an airborne laser survey system, MMS and ground laser survey system. The measurement data obtained by all survey systems were very accurate, the maximum measurement error was only few centimeters. Currently, the road design is conducted using the 3-D terrain model obtained by the laser topographic surveys.
