[CS2-02] MINED TUNNELLING WORKS UNDER THE 6 LANES LIVE EXPRESSWAY IN SINGAPORE

This paper is to present first effort to construct mined tunnelling works under the 6 lanes live expressway in Singapore. Overburden above the tunnel is 15-25m. Horizontal chemical grouting thru precast segment lining was used to improve permeable residual soil of Bukit Timah formation. The grouting technique used and its effectiveness, BIM application in planning and control, comparison between the predicted settlement and actual settlement, behaviour of settlement during excavation, volume loss and how to mitigate it during construction and monitoring & Instrumentation will be discussed.
