[CS3-22] Resilient structural planning to minimize effect of ground displacement on performance of bridges
Keywords:Ground Displacement Effect, Performance of Bridge, Structural Planning, Damage Control, Resilience
It has been noted that the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake caused significant damage to bridges due to not only the ground motion effect but the ground displacement effect. This paper reports the resilient structural planning of Aso Ohashi Bridge crossing an active fault, to minimize the effect of the ground displacement on the performance of bridges.
