Keywords:JSCE, senior civil engineer, civil engineer, senior, retirement, cohort
In recent years, continuing employment after retirement of senior engineers has been established. The number of members aged 60 and above in the JSCE has reached 1.58 times between 2001 and 2017. The percentage change in membership of the JSCE in the five years before and after retirement is defined as "five-year retention rate", and the change is confirmed, rising from 2001 and rising to 81.1% in 2017. In order to increase retention rate of the generation after retirement, it is necessary to enhance the education program for seniors. On the other hand, the trend of decreasing membership numbers among young generations was also confirmed.
