[I-119] The validation of the bridge inspection method using mahalanobis distance of velocity-SSMA by repeat experiment
Keywords:Bridge health monitoring, Drive-by bridge inspection, Spatial Singular Mode Angle, Mahalanobis distance
In Japan, the bridge inspection must be done with close visual by experts. For shortage of technical human resources in the future, the method which can detect mild damage under any “noise” are required. This study focused on drive-by inspection technology and one of the index : SSMA (Spatial Singular Mode Angle). Because SSMA are affected from variance of vehicle velocity, the novel method which uses the Mahalanobis distance for velocity-SSMA are proposed. This method have been validated in steel bridge experiment, however, the applicability for other bridge model are not validated. In this research, by repeat experiment using paper bridge model was done, the benefit and reproductivity were shown.
