[I-36] Dynamic analysis of air injected desaturation method adapted to foundation ground of embankment
Keywords:desaturation, air injection, embankment, liquefaction counter measure, finite deformation analysis
Air injected desaturation method is a newly developed inexpensive liquefaction countermeasure. The authors carried out two-dimensional effective stress analysis using code FLIP to simulate the behavior of embankment during earthquake adapted the method to its foundation ground. This method can reduce settlement of top of the embankment for Level 1 earthquake ground motions. However, it was not effective for Level 2 earthquake ground motions under the conditions of this site. The effectiveness of this method depends on original liquefaction resistance of its foundation soil, which was very low of this site. It will be effective for the site having higher liquefaction resistance than this site.
