[III-301] Development of a cubical soil box equipped with multidirectinal disk transducer
Keywords:Elastic wave velocity, Model test, Disk transducer, Inherent Anisotropy, Particle shape, Dynamic measurement
Soil stiffnesses exhibit inherent anisotropy. However, measuring all soil stiffness parameters accurately is still a challenge for experimental researchers; thus, the mechanism has not been fully understood. The present research has developed a cubical soil box equipped with multidirectional disk transducers by which both P- and S-waves can be generated and received to evaluate small-strain soil stiffnesses. This contribution presents design configuration of the equipment, and reports experimental results on spherical glass beads and Toyoura sand specimens.
