[IV-140] Comparison Analysis between Revision of Tsunami Hazard Map and Housing Fact: A Case Study of Kochi city

The estimated tsunami inundation area in the coastal area was changed after the revision of Tsunami prevention region development law, 2012. By contrast, since aging society and population decline have been more serious in local cities, it is required to encourage the concentration of urban facilities. The objective of this study was to compare the revision of tsunami hazard map and housing fact. A case study city is Kochi, where most of the central area is estimated to be a tsunami flooded area. As a result, it clarified that the number of housing development in the low risk area increased. Also, the number of residents referring a tsunami hazard map increased when choosing a residential place.
