[IV-75] Evaluation on traffic opening for the temporary service, Shingu IC-Otoyo IC, Kochi Expressway
Keywords:two-way traffic regulations, disaster, road closure, social loss
Shingu IC-Otoyo IC, Kochi Expressway was heavily damaged by the large-scale disaster, the washout of the superstructure of Tajikawa Bridge, due to the landslide that occurred in the mountain area adjacent to the expressway because of the heavy rainfall in West Japan in July 2018. Therefore, it is assumed that it will take a lot of time to recover. National Road No. 32 parallel to Kochi Expressway also runs in mountainous areas, so Kochi Expressway is called the “Road of Life”. Therefore, the study and the evaluation for the two-way traffic regulation using the intact outbound was conducted as soon as the disaster was confirmed. We report the result of the evaluation for the traffic opening.
