Steel structures under the salt damage environment, chloride-induced deterioration often occurs pitting corrosion of surface layer. In order to suppress the corrosion, we have been developing a rust preventive paint involving the “salt adsorbent” having corrosion inhibiting effect. In this study, firstly we prepared several surface-polished test pieces, and then treated some of them with the coating system mentioned above (TP-1) and the others with ordinary coating systems. (T7 and Rc-Ⅲ)To compare the durability of these systems, we performed salt spray test up to 2000 hours.TP-1 system clearly shows high performance against rust prevention in comparison with ordinary coating systems.
